The Best Hotel in Los Angeles.

LA has a lot of amazing places to store your bags while you go get a drink. These places we have heard are called “hotels” and you have your work cut out for you finding the perfect one in LA. Do you stay Downtown at the uber cool Ace hotel, or maybe beach it down at Shutters in Santa Monica. For us, our favorite place to catch some zzzz’s is the Line Hotel in the Mid Wilshire district. Line is cool, sleak, and super fun, with a fantastic rooftop lounge and personality to spare. It’s not crazy expensive, and best of all its located in a part of town that has a ton to do, plus, it’s easy to get pretty much anywhere else in this sprawling fun factory they call LA.

Address: 3515 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90010

The weirdest Store/Museum/Bathroom in LA.

Where the hell do you start with a place like Soap Plant Wacko … I guess the beginning …

1971 this little mom and pop shop opens in Los Feliz and a woman starts selling hand made soaps. Then her husband, who makes wild leather outfits, gets noticed by the NY Dolls and Elton John. Then they expand it to include Wacko, which is basically … well… everything Wacko. Wild gifts, crazy collectables and insane art.

Soap Plant is one of those places that seem otherworldly and can only exist in a place like LA where culture and crazy collide in a beautiful explosion. It’s a fantastic place to just come visit and be introduced to so many things you never knew you really needed in your life. If you need a gift for a person you simply can never buy a gift for, this is the place, and if you need to give yourself the gift of creativity there is no better place to wander round cept Soap Plant.

Pro Tip: go to the bathroom here… you will not be disappointed.

Address: 4633 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027

There is a Museum of Selfies and it’s Awesome.

The amazing Museum of Selfies is the one place you can go where you can feel absolutely zero shame about taking duck lipped photos of yourself. This kitschy, fun and strangely informative museum in Hollywood takes you through the history of the selfie (yep, that’s a thing) and then injects you into several perfectly curated selfie scenes where you can go just nuts with the props. It’s a lot of fun, and will definitely up your instagram game 💯.

The Museum of Failure is a win.

The Los Angeles Museum of Failure is a huge success in our books, with an in-depth albeit cheeky look at some of the worlds worst products throughout time. Located in the Hollywood and Highland shopping complex, this pop-up museum was created and curated by Psychologist and innovation researcher Dr. Samuel West, who was tired of success stories and wanted to share with the world the joy of pure failure.

It was an absolute pleasure walking through and laughing at the insane ideas that we’ve come up with as a society to try to make a buck, and you will not believe what takes the prize for “worst idea of all time” …
