Where the hell do you start with a place like Soap Plant Wacko … I guess the beginning …

1971 this little mom and pop shop opens in Los Feliz and a woman starts selling hand made soaps. Then her husband, who makes wild leather outfits, gets noticed by the NY Dolls and Elton John. Then they expand it to include Wacko, which is basically … well… everything Wacko. Wild gifts, crazy collectables and insane art.

Soap Plant is one of those places that seem otherworldly and can only exist in a place like LA where culture and crazy collide in a beautiful explosion. It’s a fantastic place to just come visit and be introduced to so many things you never knew you really needed in your life. If you need a gift for a person you simply can never buy a gift for, this is the place, and if you need to give yourself the gift of creativity there is no better place to wander round cept Soap Plant.

Pro Tip: go to the bathroom here… you will not be disappointed.
