Rok Restaurant Reykjavik. So Hot.

Rok restaurant is HOT. Not just because the restaurant is a design dream, not because the staff is lovely, and not just because the food is heavenly. ROK takes dining to a whole new level, bringing you on a epic journey through nibbles and nectar like no other. Cured reindeer with browned butter, ceviche with passion fruit, smoked lamb rib-eye and deserts to die for are just a few flavors that are gonna knock your pants off. Other things that might take your pants off is their daily champagne happy hour.

No matter why you come, for the gorgeous gastronomy, the liberal libations, or the sublime scene, Rok is great at rocking all 5 senses.

Southern Florida Ultimate Guide 2019.

Miami, The Keys, Dade County beware, here is the local guide to all the good stuff worth seeing. I wrote this out for my friend, so you know it’s honest advice. Enjoy.

So when you arrive I suggest we roll over to Wynwood which is the arts district with really fantastic street art… since its early and the streets don’t close, this would be a good thing to hit first http://www.thewynwoodwalls.com/

There are a few breakfast places that are exceptional

https://www.yelp.com/biz/miam-miami-3

https://www.yelp.com/biz/mason-eatery-miami-2

https://www.yelp.com/biz/all-day-miami

And last but not least… fried chicken… https://www.yelp.com/biz/coop-miami-2

Next up South Beach … quintessential Miami … Figure we could park and walk the strip, see some of the Art Deco buildings, walk down Lincoln where all the shopping is, then camp out at one of the hotel beaches for lunch. Personally I have a soft spot for the Delano … it’s older then the rest but somehow still screams South Beach to me … and if I remember correctly they have an epic salad you can eat on a giant bed on the beach … hard part will be not wanting to be inside you the whole time. https://www.morganshotelgroup.com/delano/delano-south-beach/eat-drink/delano-beach-club

If you wanna take a look … here is a great list of places if any of them peak your interest… https://www.timeout.com/miami/restaurants/best-restaurants-in-south-beach

For the other days there are some more fun stuff to do!

Airboat rides are pretty fun… did a bit of research and this one seems pretty legit, and gets you pretty close to gators which can be rad.

https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g34438-d1754430-Reviews-Buffalo_Tiger_s_Airboat_Tours-Miami_Florida.html

Ive done this one… which is nice… https://everglades.com/

Or you can do it with kayak…

https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g34210-d1158198-Reviews-Everglades_Area_Tours-Everglades_City_Florida.html

Or kayak in the glades…

Or hike in the glades…

There is some great snorkeling at Pennekamp park

http://pennekamppark.com/snorkeling-tours/

Water temperature is 75 degrees if you can believe it. https://www.seatemperature.org/north-america/united-states/key-largo.htm

Key West is about 3 hours from Homestead and is a nice drive through the Keys… if you like we can go down Thursday in the morning and have lunch/dinner in Key West which is a lot of fun. … on the way down there is lots to do:

On the way back my favorite jet ski place is at the islander hotel … they take you in the back keys to see all the crazy houses on the canals, then out into the Atlantic under the US1 bridge… its dope…

http://www.islanderfloridakeys.com/

There is also the gun range which is fun if you want to let off a few rounds… http://kiffneys.com/

And a fantastic lobster roll at Snooks … http://www.snooks.com/

Theres some other random things that caught my attention …

Like fossil hunting??? http://www.canoeoutpost.com/peace/showpage.asp?page=fossilhunting

Feel like racing a car? https://www.miamiexoticautoracing.com/

Feel like eating really weird fruit? https://www.robertishere.com/

Feel like drinking wine from that weird fruit? https://www.schneblywinery.com/Homepage

The best restaurant in Reykjavik 2019 is…

There are a ton of great restaurants in Reykjavik, so where should you go eat? You really can’t go to Kol which takes a modern look at Icelandic culinary culture with sublimely curated dishes, along with an electrifying cocktail program.

House baked sourdough with cultured butter, Beef carpaccio with mouse and truffle mayo, Icelandic Scallops, deep sea tuna with watermelon, and grilled tiger prawns are just a few of the amazing flavors you are going to get yourself into.

Don’t go to the Blue Lagoon.

Should you go to the Blue Lagoon, Iceland’s perhaps most famous attraction? We went, and were surprised a bit at what we found at this Thermal Hot Spring just outside Reykjavik that is a “must see” for any tourist going to Iceland.

While it was striking and definitely something unique, we were surprised to find the vibe there to be a bit like a cattle ranch, where people are policed heavily to shower and mover through the pools, not terribly conducive to relaxation. It seemed more of an instagram backdrop than a functional hot springs, and while its strikingly blue waters are fascinating, if you look the other way you are reminded that the Blue Lagoon is really just the runoff from a thermal plant located in plain sight. Given it’s expensive price of nearly 100 USD our suggestion is to jump in a car and explore this exquisite country where there are literally dozens of easily accessible, free, natural hot springs, who’s view and healing, relaxing power will simply blow your mind (and back pain) away. Oh you want a suggestion? We’ll our favorite is Reykjadalur, which is just a quick, beautiful hike outside the town of Hveragerði which is just over an hour from Reykjavik. It’s free, lovely, and really cant be more beautiful… afterwards hop over to Olverk (https://www.olverk.is/) Pizza and Brew Pub and really complete the circle of relaxation.

This is just our honest opinion, and lots of people will still find a lot of joy here, and we love that, but for us, we perfect a more genuine article, and dont think pristine man made nature should come at such a premium price.

Good or bad we’re bringing you a new travel film to your next favorite destination EVERY SINGLE DAY PEOPLE, so if you dig it, please like and subscribe, and we’ll keep at it. Thank you!

Walk inside a giant atom in Brussels.

The Atomium is by far one of the weirdest tourist attractions you can go to, and if you’re in Brussels it’s worth the trek out to. A bit of a hike from the city center, this giant atom you can walk in offers some fantastic views of the city. It’s also surrounded by a giant park, and a water park, which makes it a pretty decent destination on a hot summer’s day.

Consider liking and subscribing as we offer you A NEW TRAVEL VID EACH DAY. It’s like we live for this stuff or something.

Best Beer in Belgium?

Where to drink in Brussels, Belgium? Where is the best beer, nightlife and bars to hit up in the city center at night? We got you covered in this travel guide to Brussels amazing drink culture.

For us there are two places you gotta hit up if you’re looking for a proper drink, one the classic and always a good time Delirium Tremens right in the center of town. With hundreds of beers to choose from its pretty hard not to find something to wet your whistle.

The other is a bit more for the advanced alcoholic, that’s Cantillon Brewery, which is a pretty good walk from anything remotely interesting. Rest assured arriving here will soothe your soul where you can take a guided, or self guided, or I-drank-too-much-and-dont-remember-the-tour walk through this historic brewery that draws an eclectic crowd who come from all corners of the globe to try their famous Lambic beer.

The Best Winery in Paso Robles, Central Coast Ca.

Central California has some of the best wines the world can offer, but one winery in Paso Robles is doing it with a bit more panache then the rest. Tooth and Nail Winery is located in a full castle, complete with aqua-marine moat, and protects some of the best grape this region has to offer. A variety of flights are available from the super friendly and fun staff, and they have a rocking menu to provide some delicious ambrosia to go with your divine nectar. Don’t forget to download their app to see their labels come alive right before your eyes, the first tech of it’s kind and definitely a show stopper. Also, keep an eye out for their exclusive castle parties, which are legendary in the area.

Not all the labels come to life in the augmented reality app … you have to find the ones that do, which is a fun little game. Also Joining their wine club is a smart move, offering extreme discounts and free shipping of wine right to your house.

Buffalo Racing in Thailand you must see.

In the back country of Chonburi Thailand, villagers come together with their land-working buffalos and compete in a crazy type of drag race to see which is the fastest. The stakes are high; the buffalo are not like horses, the riders, hang atop these 2 ton beasts by the nape of their necks for dear life, as there is no way to control, or stop, the animals once they start to run. The only way they stop is by running the entire course into a large body of water, and the riders hope against all odds that the animals don’ t crash into each other, or buck them off, which happens often.

It’s extremely dangerous but a great source of fun and pride for the locals, who love to bet on the beasts, and hold huge competitions with food and drink rounding out the experience. If you get the chance to see one of these amazing events you definitely should, they are riveting. Filmed by our very own Roberto Serrini (@serrini) while on location for a film … more of his drone films are at http://www.nycdroner.com

Stay tuned for a NEW VID EACH DAY as we travel round the world to find the weirdest-wildest-best-nicest-goodest-sweetest-dopest stuff for you to get inspired by and get your a$$ off the couch.

Much love, the TC.

Drone over Big Sur!

Man, there are few places more stunning then Big Sur, which has been called the “longest and most scenic stretch of undeveloped coastline in the contiguous United States”. It’s dramatic coastline where the Santa Lucia Mountains crash into the blue Pacific with such epic force that it will simply take your breath away. Take a little trip with us above the cliffs and enjoy a bit sunny of Central Cali coastline today in our week of drone madness.

New video EACH DAY, so please like and subscribe and well promise to keep the eye candy coming;) Brought to you by the good peeps at Get Lost Magazine (www.getlostmagazine.com) @getlostmagazine
